• In spite of centuries of foreign rule, the Greeks had survived as a people, united by
their language and the Greek Orthodox religion.
• For the result of the revolution, the Greeks wanted to obtain National Liberalism.
• In February 24 , 1848, Louis Philippe had abdicated in favor of his grandson & on
the same day, the common people made the decision that they did not want to
tolerate a monarchy any longer.
• This revolution was driven by nationalist and republican ideals among the French
general public.
• Throughout central Europe, the first news of the upheaval in France evoked
feverish excitement and eventually revolution.
