AND ITS FUNCTIONS
Screwdriver
is a tool, manual or powered, for turning (driving or
removing) screws. A typical simple screwdriver has a
handle and a shaft, and a tip that the user inserts into
the screw head to turn it.

- are a type of pliers used

other tradesmen primarily for
gripping, twisting, bending and
cutting wire and cable
Slip Joint Pliers
- pliers whose pivot point
or fulcrum can be moved to increase
the size range of their jaws. Use a
mechanism that allows sliding the
pivot point into one of several
positions when the pliers are fully
opened

- is a small, hand-held
device used to strip
the electrical
insulation from
electric wires.

Crimping Tool
- a tool designed
to crimp or connect
a connector to the
end of a cable.
Utility Knife
- knife used for general or
utility purposes. It is used for
stripping of wires insulation
or sleeves

Tweezer
- small tools used for picking
up objects too small to be
easily handled with the human
hands and used to grab or hold
hot objects. This can be straight
or bent tip.
Soldering Iron
- supplies heat to
melt solder so that it can flow
into the joint between two
work pieces

Soldering Iron
- use to hold soldering iron
when hot to avoid burning
flammable materials
Desoldering Pump or
Desoldering Tool
- removes solder and
components from a circuit
board for troubleshooting,
repair, replacement, and salvage.
Re-work Station
- is the term for the
refinishing operation or repair
of an electronic printed circuit
board (PCB) assembly, usually
involving desoldering and re-
soldering of surface-
mounted electronic
components (SMD)
Magnifying Glass
- a convex lens that is used to produce a magnified
image of an object. The lens is usually mounted in a
frame with a handle

Locking Pliers or Vise Grip
- pliers that can be locked into position, using
an over-center action. One side of the handle includes
a bolt that is used to adjust the spacing of the jaws,
the other side of the handle (especially in larger
models) often includes a lever to push the two sides
of the handles apart to unlock the pliers
