In general -
• sales is the exchange of a commodity for money, the action of
selling something.

In a hotel -
• This is a department which brings in guest and helps the hotel to
earn revenue
– Strategy
– Advertisement
– Promotion
– Sales
– Public relation
• Accountable to GM
ROLES OF SALES IN FO
• To encourage the FO to promote Product & Services.
• Works on statistics and provides data.
• Evaluating existing plans and packages and updates the FO.
• Formulating new plans/packages for special occasions
(restaurant, banquets, bar for events like birthday party or
wedding)
• Formulating plans for VIP (room & food) and updating the
FO.
• Providing Terms and conditions of Up selling for different
cases.
• Discrepancy evaluation.
• Auditing
