Jesuits

repetition;

children;

e) a lot of repetition for mastery;
f) review;
g) motivation by rivalry and emulation.

a) grade pupils according to ability;
b) adopt the method in which the pupil recited not to the
teacher but to the class.
Jansenists
a) teaching of the vernacular by the phonetic method;
b) nothing is to be memorized unless understood;
c) use of textbooks.
