POLICIES
Objectives of the OJT Program

On-the-Job / In company Training


provides student trainees with actual
job experiences which will develop
employment skills in a supervised work
setting.
Objectives of the OJT Program

 It is organized to assist the student in


developing academic, social, and personal
skills; provide an opportunity for the
student to receive exploratory work
experiences; develop work habits ,
personality traits , job and affective skills
such as discipline among others, needed to
be successful in a job.
Objectives of the OJT Program

Student- Trainees shall be expected to further


develop the different basic, common and
core competencies required of the program.
Industry Mentors shall likewise see to it that
these competencies will be demonstrated as
they are exposed to the ‘hands on’ activities
in the workplace.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Students should be exposed to


planning, design, construction,
management and maintenance of
power plant, industrial plant and
factories, refrigeration and air-
conditioning system, automotive
and other machinery equipment.
CIVIL ENGINEERING

 Students should be exposed to


planning, design, construction,
management and maintenance of
Railways, Roads and Bridges; Dams,
Reservoirs and Hydraulic Structure and
Systems; Water and Waste Water Disposal;
Buildings and Foundation; and other
CivilWorks used by man;
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Students should be exposed in
planning, design,
construction, operation,
management and maintenance
relating to the generation of
electrical power.
ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Students should be exposed to
broadcasting, telecommunications,
semiconductor device fabrication and
manufacturing, electronics design,
computer systems, instrumentation
and telemetry, automation, feedback,
process control robotics and
mechatronics, industrial electronics,
signal processing, optics and
medical/biomedical electronics.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE DEAN
1. Evaluates and determines whether the students are qualified to
undertake On- the- Job training, as endorsed by the OJT
Coordinator.
2. Evaluates and approves the request of the OJT Coordinator for
deployment of student-trainees to industries/companies subject to their
selection and admission requirements.
3. Assists the OJT Coordinator in establishing linkages with other
industries/companies.
4. Monitors the work of the OJT Coordinator, as evidenced by the
different reports submitted.
5. Provides solutions to problems pertaining to the OJT Program in
consultation with the CP/VPAA.
6. Performs ocular visit to industries/ companies at least once during the
training program.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE
OJT COORDINATOR
1. Prepares and submits calendar of activities for the Dean’s
approval a semester before the deployment / training.
2. Prepares and submits budget proposal for approval of
President/VPAA/Dean consistent with the approved calendar
of activities at least one month before deployment of student-
trainees to be able to decide on the OJT fee to be collected.
3. Prepares and continuously updates directory of industries and
other linkages by program for easy and fast deployment of
student-trainees
4. Coordinates with the identified industry linkages on OJT-
related matters
5. Assists/ submits to the Dean the Evaluation of OJT grades and
other related requirements.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OJT
COORDINATOR
6.Visits/monitors the student-trainees in the company/industry
where assigned, at least: A. twice a month if it is located in Naga
City / Bicol Area; B. at least three (3) during the training period
such as deployment/ within / exit if outside Region V; C at least
once during training period if outside the country.
7. Distributes and retrieves accomplished pre and post training
documents/ forms.
8. Prepares and submits feedbacks/recommendations to the Dean
relative to problems/situations encountered during the training.
9. Does other related tasks assigned by the Dean from time to time.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE
INDUSTRY MENTOR
1. Screens, selects and deploys student-trainees after complying
all the industry’s requirements for on-the-job training.
2. Provides appropriate training and assist student-trainees
while undergoing OJT and inform the college about the
trainee’s performance, attitude and other significant
accomplishments for the improvement of the program
3. Issues certificate of completion to student-trainees who
successfully finished their training
4. Provides OJT-related data requested by the College.
Identification of Training
Venues /Industries
 Prioritized Agencies
Government and non-government agencies shall be the affiliating
agencies for the OJT/Off-campus/In-campus training of the
college. Prioritization of these agencies shall depend on the skill or
the technical know-how they offer for training of the students.
(Article 47, Chapter 6 of the Approved Book III of the Revised
College Code)

 Pre-deployment Survey
This shall be undertaken and to be submitted by the Student-
trainee as one of the documents (Form 1) prior to the
deployment.
 Evaluation/Capability Instrument
Every program of the different colleges shall devise
evaluation instruments for student trainees and OJT
Coordinators as provided in the Evaluation Forms for
Student-trainees and OJT Coordinators.

 MOA Preparation/ Signing (Training Agreement)


Provided in Form 4
Responsibilities of the Industry Partner
1. Defines clearly the conditions and the schedule of training.
2. Provides assistance to Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges
(CSPC) Nabua Campus in providing the students with
opportunities for training, the occupational competences and
the technical information related to it; and in return CSPC pays
honorarium in accordance with the approved fees.
3. Provides a well- rounded training by way of a systematic plan that
can be followed stating a schedule of work experience that will
interface what was taught at CSPC as agreed upon by both
parties.
4. Designs a program that will cover the corresponding number of
hours as required by the curriculum with a minimum of 40 hours
per week .
5. Gives due and appropriate evaluation of the performance of
the student-trainee and recommends to the school’s selection
and awards committee for due recognition of any outstanding
/ excellent performance, if any.
6. Evaluates the conduct and performance of the student-l
trainee through the OJT/ICT Coordinator.
7. Releases a student trainee / issues clearance, if he/ she
seeks formal request to be transferred/ withdrawn from the
training, properly endorsed by the Industry Mentor and
duly noted /approved by the OJT Coordinator
POLICIES AND GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
ENROLLED IN ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT)

Prerequisite
1. To qualify for on-the-job/off-campus/in-campus
training, a student should have finished at least 75
percent or more of the total number of units
required in his entire program

Summer, 4th Year , 240 hours, (5 units)


 2. Student trainees shall be required to render
thirty (30) hours of in-campus service prior to
deployment in different industries. They shall be
supervised by the OJT Coordinator.
OJT COSTS

Tuition & Other Fees


Tuition and other fees shall be paid by the student-trainee upon
enrolment equivalent to the number of units required.

Board and Lodging


Board and lodging shall be dependent upon the choice of the
student-trainee. However, OJT coordinators shall look into
the safety and security of the accommodation in the duration
of the training.
 Transportation
Transportation fee in the deployment shall be paid by the student-trainees.
However, OJT Coordinators shall look into the safety in the choice of
the transport.
 Insurance
Safety of student-trainees and OJT Coordinators shall be covered by the
insurance / fees arranged for the purpose.
 Supervision Fees
Supervision fees shall be charged based on the budget submitted by the
OJT Coordinator duly noted by the concerned deans and approved by
the VPAEA/CP.
Fees shall be utilized in the linkaging/monitoring activities undertaken by
the OJT Coordinators/Deans in the concerned programs.

 A separate OJT fee shall be charged to those who will undergo Experiential Learning Courses (Practice
Teaching and Field Study-College of Education), Office Practicum (College of Management and Entrepreneurship.
A separate budget proposal for OJT fees of every program shall be prepared by the OJT Coordinators duly noted
by the concerned deans, approval recommended by the VPAEA and officially approved by the College President
considering the following:

Administrative Cost P 50. 00/ student


(OJT-related expenses as to use of school facilities in the preparation
and implementation of the OJT Program)

Supervision Fee P 100.00/ student


OJT- related travel expenses during the deployment/ monitoring activities
subject to the usual accounting rules and regulations.

Industry Mentor’s Fee


( P 1,000 for every 5 students and P100.00 in excess of 5 students.
A minimum fee of P500.00 for less than 5 students / mentor.

Documentation (cell phone load, pictures, certificates) P 50.00/ student
