Each Complex function can be expressed as:
Where z= x + iy
f(𝑧 2 ) = 𝑥 2 − 𝑦 2 + 𝑖2𝑥𝑦
Thus 𝑢 = 𝑥 2 − 𝑦 2 ---------------------(1)
& v = 2𝑥𝑦 ---------------------(2)
Now let u=a where a is any constant ,and let v=b where b is any
constant. Thus equation 1 and 2 become:
𝑥2 − 𝑦2 = 𝑎 & 2𝑥𝑦 = 𝑏
Thus both form orthogonal parabolas in the z-plane. Hence the graphs can be
mapped as shown.
