 Daydream is a fantasy you have while you’re awake.
 Daydreaams can be absorbing that the distract you from what’s going on around you.
 Daydreaming is one of the most common things we do. According to psychologist, we
spend up to half of our mental activity on daydreams. They help us to realise our goals,
and reveal our innermost hopes, desire, and fear.
 Prof Eric Klinger from University of Minnesota said ‘Paradoxical though it sound,
daydreaming is what makes us organised’. We think of daydreams as scatterbrained and
unfocused, but one of the functions of daydreaming is to keep your life’s agenda inn front
of you, it reminds you of what’s coming up, it rehearses new situations, plans the future and
scans past experiences so you can learn from them.
 Children and teenagers daydream more than adults.
 For the children, daydreaming is a crucial way of trying out different identities and
exploring life’s possibilities in a safe environment
 As we get older, our goals are generally more fixed and achievable, so we muse
over them less, although we still daydream about the future
 Although we’re often told that having our head in the clouds is a waste of time,
daydreaming has many benefits
 Klinger said daydreams help us to get the most out of our brain power, and are an
essential personal resource for coping with life.
 Trevor Baylis, inventor of clockwork radio said daydreaming allows the mind to
come up with ideas and modify them like the most wonderful computer, I start
daydreaming about the way old-fashioned wind-up gramophones worked and it all
went from there
Daydreaming normally has a negative connotation but it can be useful when you
need to induce creativity or a few minutes of relaxation. Depending on the way you
use your daydreaming time, it can be either a positive or a negative way to spend
some of your free time.
 Can be harmful to your way of life if you do it too much.
 Loose your focus and forget important information.
 Daydreaming can interfere with your productivity and cause you to either slow
down or stop completely for matter of minutes.
 Daydreaming also can be harmful to your mental health if you are constantly
having negative thoughts
 Daydreaming allow your mind to wander and forget about reality for a short time.
 Many people choose daydreaming to relax
 To manage conflict
 Can help to maintain your relationship
 Can be used as an efficient method for boosting productivity
 You can be healthier with daydreaming
 Keep your life’s agenda in front of you
 Daydreaming can reminds you what’s coming up
 Can rehearses new situation
 Plans the future and scans past experience so you can learn from them
 Search on youtube or google about the importance of being in the present moment
so you will be motivated to get rid of daydreaming.
 Accept you present moment without judging, by grateful what you have, ty to enjoy
the moment you are and every time you find yourself dreaming gently put yourself
to reality.
 Train your mind to stay focused don’t just plan but take action or go out with
people. Try to have fun in your real life than dreaming what if..
 Staying focused is like a muscle the more you stay focused after some time it will
become more easier to stay in the present moment.
