BALL SHOOTING

• The class will be divided into two (2) groups. Each group must
pick ten (10) representatives. The teacher will provide a ball and
a pale.The ten (10) representatives will fall in line.
• Each representative must be able to shoot the ball into the pale
which will be placed 2 meters away from the representatives. A
representative, after shooting the ball, cannot shoot again unless
the other nine (9) representatives are done shooting.
BALL SHOOTING

• Each team will be given two (2) minutes to score


as many as they can. First team to shoot will be
decided through a toss coin.
• The team with the highest score will get ten (10)
points while the team with the lowest score will
get five (5) points.

GOALS OF SOCIAL WORK
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
• identify the three (3) distinguishing goals of Social Work;
• value the importance of conducting Social Work; and
• create a flow chart using the three (3) distinguishing goals
of Social Work for a case study showcasing the
importance of the formulating and setting of goals.
It is a profession to SOCIAL WORK
develop human beings
and assist other
institutions in attaining
the basic human needs
of the people and in
empowering the lost, the
least, and the last.
GOALS

A goal is an idea of the


future or desired result
that a person or a group
of people envisions, plans
and commits to achieve.
People endeavor to
reach goals within a
finite time by setting
deadlines.
THREE DISTINGUISHING GOALS OF
SOCIAL WORK
Caring refers to the GOAL ON CARING
heart of Social Work
and it focuses on the
well-being or the
welfare and comfort
of the individual and
community.
GOAL ON CARING

The goal on caring involves


the enhancement of the
quality of life in prisons, the
upgrading and humanizing
services in nursing homes
and juvenile facilities, and the
constant advancement of
care given to populations in
need.
Curing refers to the GOAL ON CURING
aspect of treating
people with problems
in social functioning.
This covers a range of
aiding techniques for
individuals, families,
and groups.
GOAL ON CURING

Techniques that are


usually used for curing are
the different counseling
methods such as: Gestalt
Therapy, Family Therapy,
Individual Therapy, etc.

CHANGING

Changing refers to the active


participation of the social
workers in social reforms.
This goal comes from a
perspective that there is a
persistence of poverty,
environmental destruction,
and social disintegration.

CHANGING

It is vital for the social workers


to be aware and be actively
vigilant in identifying structures
that exacerbate the situation and
deepen social destruction.
Social reforms are necessary to
improve the social services and
the quality of life of those in
need. Social Workers struggle to
pursue a lasting social change.

• The class will be divided into five (5) groups.
• Each group will be given a case study through
draw lots.
• Each group will construct a flow chart of how
to address the issues on the given case study
using the three (3) distinguishing goals of Social
Work within 15 minutes.
ACTIVITY
• Each group will write/illustrate their flow chart on a
Manila Paper.
• Each group will choose two (2) reporters to present
their work.
