The word “ textile ” originally applied to the
woven fabrics , now generally applied to the
fibers , yarns or fabrics or products made offers .

INTRODUCTION The industry is primary concern with the design

TO TEXTILE and production of the yarn , cloth , clothing
and their distribution .
INDUSTRY -
The raw material may be natural or synthetic

YARN STORAGE DEPT.

We have different types of yarn in this dept. like – dyed and polyester filament yarn
, cotton polyester yarn , PV PC blend yarn , linen.
Capacity of dept. – 500 tons

Available in dept – 390 tons , (it increases as per requirement)

All yarns are stored in the different 11 sections = (A – L)

We get yarn from different companies like – siyaram , reliance recron , OEKO Tex ,
vardhaman , Aditya spinners , Welspun .
We get batch no , shade no , count of yarn , quality of yarn and weight of the
single cone on the box of yarn.
QA LAB

Main object of QA lab is to check quality of the yarn

Different machines used in QA lab are –

•Spectre Vision :- To check continuity of the yarn.
•Wrap Reel :- To prepare yarn leas .
•Weighting Balance :- To check the weight of yarn package.
•Electronic twist tester :- To determine twist per unit length in yarn.
•Digital strength tester :- To determine the strength and CSP of the yarn leas .
•Beesley Balance :- To determine the count of the yarn in fabric specimens.
•GSM Round Cutter :- To check GSM of the given fabric sample.

GSM = wt. of sample cut in grams * 100

8. Yarn Eveness Tester :- To check the yarn apparence.

WINDING DEPT

 OBJECT OF WINDING :- THE MAIN PURPOSE OF WINDING IS TO MAKE

SUITABLE PACKAGE FOR BOTH WEAVING AND KNITTED FABRIC
PRODUCTION
 IT IS MOST ESSENTIAL PROCESS FOR BOTH YARN AND FABRIC
MANUFACTURING
 WINDING PROCESS SHOULD BE ACCURATE FOR ACCELARATE THE
NEXT FABRIC MANUFACTURING PROCESS
 IN WINDING YARN KNOTS SHOULD BE SMALL IN SIZE AND AMOUNT OF
KNOTS SHOULD BE MINIMUM
WARPING

 Object of warping :- Yarn packages are converted into the warpers

beam having desired width and containing no of ends , uniform
tension is maintained on individual yarns during warping .

 Two types of warping :-

ordinary & sectional warping

 There are 2 Karl Mayer machines , 3 Beninger machines & 5 China

machines .
 Machines used for warping are :-

1. Karl Mayer :- m/c width = 90 inch

fabric length = 2000 meters
creel capacity = 720

2. Benninger :- m/c width = 90 inch & 135 inch

fabric length = 6000 meters
creel capacity = 720 & 800

3. China :- m/c width = 90 inch & 135 inch

fabric length = 6000 meters
creel capacity = 720
 Object :-
To improve the strength of yarn , abrasion
resistant , lower hairiness & lower fricitional resistant
.
 Chemicals used for polyester :-

SIZING ALPENOL JV ( for polyester )

SOLOACT SFR ( cotton )
M – 5000 D :- for thickness of cotton
 Temp. for size paste –
Cotton - 120* + 20*
Polyester – 125* + 20*
SIZING DEPT.

 There are 3 tanks in sizing dept :-

1. 1st Tank :- To add water + chemical.
2. 2nd Tank :- To maintain the temperature of the size paste .
3. 3rd Tank :- Used for the storage of the size paste (it increases as per
requirement ) .

There are 4 storage tanks each of 1100 litres .

There are total 4 steam pipes in 1 storage tanks .
The temperature in the rollers is 50* C to 85 * C .
In 1 hour – 6000 meters beam is sized .
DRAWING - IN
 There are two types of drawing :-
1. Manual Drawing
2. Automatic Drawing

Manual Drawing :-

Warp beam

Drop wire

Heald wire

Reed
 Automatic Drawing-in
It is done by using robo like m/c
Object of drawing :- It is the process that connects the sizing and
weaving . Drawing-in is the entering of yarns from a new warp into the
weaving elements of a weaving m/c , namely drop wires , heddles
and reed , when starting a new fabric .
Important operation of this process are leasing , drawing , dropper-
pinning and tying .
it depends on the different types of yarn , colour , weaving m/c , its
type , character or production .

 Beating
 Take-up
 Let-off

Types of weaving m/c

AIR JET LOOM RAPIER LOOM

Airjet loom

 Airjet loom is a shuttleless loom that uses a jet of air to propel the
weft yarn through the warp shed
 The airjet m/c are supplied with compressed air from the central
compressor in the weave room or equipped with individual built-in
compressor
 Airjet looms are capable of producing standard household and
apparel fabrics such as shirts , denim , sheets , towels , and sport
apparel as well as printed circuit board cloths
 Heavier yarns are more suitable for air-jet looms than lighter yarns
 Air-jet looms are capable of producing dobby and jacquard fabrics
1. Less power consumption
2. Higher weft insertion
Features of 3. Higher production than other

air-jet looms 4. Light and medium fabrics produced on air

–jet loom
5. Fabric width is 190 cm ( cotton )
6. Noise level is lower than rapier loom
7. Consume very low power as compare to
other looms
8. It works at 1100 rpm maximum
Its working rpm is 750-800 rpm

RAPIER LOOM

 It is the shuttleless weaving loom in which the filling yarn is carried

through the shed of warp yarns to the other side of the loom by
finger-like carriers called rapiers .
 The rapier moves across the width of the fabric , carrying the weft
yarn across the shed to the opposite side .
 In looms , 2 rapiers are used , each half the width of the fabric itself ,
where rapier carriers the yarn to the centre of the shed where the
opposing rapier picks up the yarn and carriers it the remainder on
the way across the shed .

LIGHT INDICATOR ON LOOM

 BLUE :- Weft breakage

 Red :- Warp breakage
 White :- Mechanical problem
 Orange :- Cloth length
 Green :- Mechanical fault
GREY LIGHT CHECKING

 It is done above the light on the transparent screen to identify the

faults in fabric.

 Major faults are :-

Slubs , neps , knots , uneven weft & warp , oily warp & weft , count
variation , broken ends and picks , wrong picks , hole , design cut.
