 INTRODUCTION OF SITE
 1.Three bridges of span 20 - 25 m length up to
75 m. were build with pile foundations.
 2. The site geology was clay and sand layers.
The pile depth varied from 17.5 m to 28 m.
diameter was 600 mm.
 3. The design loads were 37, 42 and 54 tons.
 4. The production were 1 piles a day.

 Summary of Rate Analysis (BUMP)
 Bored Cast in Situ Concrete Pile (600 mm diameter)

 The following rate analysis is based on a 600 mm diameter bored cast in

place pile length 20m constructed at Chesang river on Biratnagar Rangeli
Road.

 The rate (cost) of boring is based on boring through firm to stiff clays and
silty fine to medium to coarse sand. The rate will vary in different type of
geology.

 The entire piling operation was performed by bringing skilled to

semiskilled experienced people from Calcutta. Thus higher rates for man
days have been taken.

 The rates are excluding VAT and Contractor’s profit. Details of the rate
analysis is enclosed.
