HISTORICAL TIMELINE

1907- Missionary
Volunteer (MV) Society
(Forerunner of the
Adventist Youth)
was founded.

ELDER M. E.KENN voted


as Youth Director of
General Conference
1925- First camp for
girls followed in Australia
followed by the boys
camp in Michigan
Townline Like

1929 - “Pathfinder”
names first used at a
summer camp in
Southeastern
California.
1946- The first conference sponsored
PATHFINDER Club in Riversides,
California.
PATHFINDER Club emblem designed

Junior Missionary volunteer ( JMV)
Pathfinder Clubs for world field.
1954- The first Pathfinder Camporee was
held on May 7-9 in Idyllwild, California.
1960- The first Union Camporee was held
on April 11-14, Lone Pine, California.

PATHFINDER OBJECTIVES
1.Help the young people to
understand that God and his
church love them, care for
them and appreciate them.

2. Encourage Pathfinder to
discover their own God-given
potential.
3. Inspire young people to
give personal expression of
their love for God.

4. Make the number one


priority of your club
program the personal
salvation of every
Pathfinder.
5. Build into a Pathfinder’s
life healthy appreciation and
love for God ‘s creation by
enjoying outdoor activity.

6. Teach Pathfinder specific


skills and hobbies that will
make their more meaningful.
7. Encourage the Pathfinder to keep
physically Fit.
8. Give opportunity for the development
of leadership.
9. Seek to foster the harmonious
development of the physical, social,
intellectual, and spiritual life.
