CASE STUDY:-
VARIOUS ELECTRONICS AND
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT’S AT HOME
NAME :- SIMRAN MANHAS.
SECTION:- K18HA.
GROUP -1.
ROLL NO. -: 1.

TAUGHT BY -: MISS. GURLEEN

KAUR(MENTOR)…
PURPOSE OF STUDY:-
• The purpose of the case study is to explain:-
 what are electrical devices?
 what are electrnics devices?
Difference between electrical and electronic devices.
Different types of electrical devices at home.
Different types of electronics devices at home.
ELECTRICAL DEVICES:-
 Electrical devices are defined as devices use or
generate electricity and transform it into another
form of energy, such as motion, heat or light.
 The transformation created by electrical devices are
simple in nature and typically serve to do only one
reaction.
 Electrical equipment includes any machine powered by
electricity.it usually consist of an enclosure , a variety
of electrical components , and often a power switch.
 Examples of electrical devices:-fan,heater,ceiling
fan,toaster,etc
ELECTRICAL DEVICES USED
AT HOME

Ceiling fan fan heater

CEILING FAN
ceiling fan is a single phase induction motor . Generally we use a capacitor
start and run ac motor for ceiling fans.

Working principle : whenever current carrying conductor is placed in a

magnetic field it experiences force . Ac motor needs a rotating magnetic
field in order to turn the rotor shaft. In a single phase system capacitor is
used to provide a phase shift in the windings of the motor.
TOASTER MICROWAVE
OVEN
TOASTER
 the electric current flows through a series of thin filaments connected together but
spaced widely enough apart to toast the whole bread surface.
 the filaments are so thin that they glow red hot when the electricity flow through them.

 like a series of small radiators , the filaments beam heat toward the bread in the
toaster.
 the steady supply of heat rapidly cooks the bread . There are filaments on each wall of
the toaster so the two sides of the sides of the bread cook at the same time.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES:-
 an electronic component is any basic discrete device or physical
entity in an electronic system used to affect electrons or their
associated fields. Electronic components are mostly available in a
singular form and are not to be confused with electrical elements.
 electronic components have two or more electrical terminals (or
leads) aside from antennas which may only have one terminal.
 basic electronic components may be packaged discretely , as arrays
or networks of like components , or integrated inside of packages
such as semiconductor integrated circuits , hybrid integrated
circuits , or thick film devices.
 examples:- smartphones , headphones , camera , landline.

SOUND SYSTEM WORKING
 transducer – a device which converts energy from one form into
another . The two types of transducers we will deal with
speakers(which convert electrical energy into acoustical energy).

 amplifier – a device which takes a signal and increases its power (i.e.
it increases the amplitude).
