Introduction
 The idea of search and Rescue robots
emerged at the beginning of the
1980’s.Nevertheless, until the 1990s there
weren’t any real development in this field.
 Although robots are not widely used in actual
search and rescue situations at the moment
the development in this field seems quite
promising.
About rescue robots
 A rescue robot is a robot that has been designed for
the purpose of rescuing people. Common situations
that employ rescue robots are mining accidents, urban
disasters, hostage situations, and explosions.
 Rescue robots in development are being made with
abilities such as searching, mapping, removing or
shoring up rubble, delivery of supplies, medical
treatment, and evacuation of casualties. Even with all
these ideas coming about there are still some technical
challenges that remain.
Deliverables required
 Visual system for robot
 Human victim detection
 Hazardous material
signs detection
 Easy to use interface for
controlling the robot
Needs & ways of detection of
humans
Procedures and methods
Types of Rescue robots
Aerial Rescue Robots
Fire Fighting Robots
Marine Rescue Robots
Medical Robots
Military Robots
Aerial Rescue robots
Drones, also known as
unmanned aerial vehicles, can be used to
detect and enter damaged buildings,
assisting rescue robots and responders on the
ground by speeding up the search for
survivors through prioritizing which areas to
search first.
Fire fighting Robots
Fire fighting is an important job but it is very
dangerous occupation. Due to
that, Robots are designed to find a fire, before
it rages out of control. It could be used to
work with fire fighters to reduce the risk of
injury to victims. ... LCD display also gives the
graphical information of the robot status to
the user.
Designing of fire fight robot
Material Required:
 Arduino UNO
 Fire sensor or Flame sensor (3 Nos)
 Servo Motor (SG90)
 L293D motor Driver module
 Small Breadboard
 Robot chassis with motors and wheel (any type)
 Connecting wires
working
 The sensors have an IR
Receiver
(Photodiode) which is
used to detect the fire
 When fire burns it emits a
small amount of Infra-red
light, this light will be
received by the IR
receiver on the sensor
module
 So, we place three
sensors in three
directions of robot.
Marine Rescue Robots
 These robots are underwater vehicles which
plays a important role in underwater rescuing
Medical Rescue Robots
This allows surgeon greater access to areas
under operation using more precise and less
invasive methods.
Military Rescue Robots
Military robots are autonomous robots or
remote controlled devices designed for
military applications.
Advantages
 Rescue robots save peoples lives on any
platform.
 They are stronger to carry more people in a single
run to save lives
 They can be used anywhere when anyone needs
help or in the medical field or in
any rescue operation
 They can do rescue jobs & search jobs, more
people would get saved & they work faster than a
human.
Applications
The Rescue Robots are used in various fields like
Medical field
Military application
Marine system
Fire rescue system
Disadvantages
Expensive to produce
The decisions have been programmed to act
accordingly to the situation
conclusion
The benefits of rescue robots to these
operations include reduced personnel
requirements, access to otherwise
unreachable areas. so, it will be an asset to
future
