cultural change at First Union?
• A company’s culture is its own ‘personality.’ It conveys valuable things about
beliefs, brand, and desires, and it covers a wide range of different elements and
aspects. The culture can include the work environment, ethics, and long term
mission and goals. In addition, the company’s culture will be reflected not only in
the company’s clients and products but also to the employees.
• There is gender inequality which is preventing Meg from being involved with the
company event.

• The company may clarify to employees what the company stands for and its
expectations for employee conduct.

• It is important for the top management to support and reinforce the
codes through their actions, including rewards for compliance and
discipline for violations.

• It is also important to develop preparation programs to recognize the


“unconscious bias”.
