Aim of the Field Action Project (FAP)

• To identify marginalized and vulnerable groups


within the marketplace.

• To profile them in small groups and do a need


assessment.

• And also, eventually try to organize and


collectivize them.

• To provide alternative source of livelihood to


the marginalized and vulnerable groups
identified.
Introduction
Agricultural produce market committee is
registered under the APMC Act 1950s.

The act had the following objectives :-

• Bringing transparency in the agricultural


market

• Protecting the farmers from


exploitation by the money lenders and

• Held a meeting with a group of women
waste pickers and Ms. Asha from Stree
Mukti Sanghatana at the Scrap Shop.
• Acknowledging the impact of waste
picking as an occupation on their lives
and also on our society.
• Sharing insights about organizing them
and then looking at various possibilities.
• Connecting them with governmental and
non-governmental agencies.
• Trying to build trust with middle-aged
women running errands at the Grain
Market.
