ABSTRACT

It is estimated that since the year 1500 more than 190 species of birds have
been extinguished and the rate of extinction seems to be increasing. The
phenomenon of the recent extinction of numerous species of birds can be
due to two main factors:The invasion of ecosystems isolated by man and,
above all, by predators and indiscriminate huntingCurrently in the world
there are many birds in danger of extinction such as the famous California
condor or the Kakapo. The hunters cause their extinction for profit. These
poor birds are wanted either for their plumage or to end up in captivity. In our
country hunting is not the exception. Many birds of our Peru are at great risk
of extinction. But there are people around the world who are in charge of
giving them protection and support so that they are not victims of the evil
hunters. There are even conservation centers that help to raise many birds so
that their population can increase and do not end up like the MOAS or the
DODO, birds that disappear.
