Bacnotan National High School
Students’ Bill of Rights
Section 1
Every students has the right to participate in
any student activity which is beneficial to his
well-being and to the school.
Section 2
Every student has the right to be given the best
facilities in order to develop his potentials to
the fullest.
Section 3
The freedom of the press, or the right of the students to
peaceable assembly and petition by resolution to the
proper channels like the Student Government and the
school administration shall not be impaired

Section 4
Every student has the right to form an association for
the purpose not contrary to the school policies

Section 5
Every student has the right to be informed by proper
school authorities concerning his welfare.
BNHS Committee on Child Protection
1. The committee on child protection and
the school administration are partners in
implementing and achieving the vision and
mission of the school.
2. That the committee on Child Protection
has the power and the authority to impose
fair and just disciplinary action on erring
students who commit grave offenses
3. That the committee on child protection is an
independent body from the Guidance Office.
4. That the committee on Child protection
inculcates awareness among students, parents
and teachers on the consequences of tertiary
intervention to be imposed on the committed
grave acts and offences by the students.
5. That the members of the committee should
observe secrecy on delicate and complicated
matters.
Do’s (Acceptable Behavior)
 Section 1. Attendance
1.1 Flag Raising Ceremony
all students are required to attend the flag
raising ceremony every Monday at 7:15 (flexible).
The gate is closed at 8:00 to 12:00 AM and 1:00 to
4:00 PM.
1.2 Class attendance
Attendance in all subjects is checked
daily by the subject teachers. If a student is
late or cuts classes, or gets absent, he is
required to present a excuse letter duly
signed by the parents or guardian to be
presented to the adviser/ subject teacher.
Section 2 Wearing of Proper Attire, Neatness
and Good Grooming

2.1 a Proper Attire


-Every student is suggested to come to school
wearing proper attire.

Male: black pants and white shirt with BNHS logo


or white polo
Female: Blue skirt and white shirt with BNHS logo
or white blouse
2.2 b Neatness and Good Grooming
-observe neatness and good grooming at all
times.

2.3. c Proper Hair


-Encourage proper hair cut for both male and
female students.

Section 3. Identification Cards (ID’s)


-Every student is expected to wear an
identification card inside the school
Section 4 School Campus Proper Decorum and
Social Behavior
-Peace and order in the school is strictly observed
at all times.
-Fell free to approach SSG officers, teachers and
Guidance Officers in case students witness
improper social decorum and behaviors inside
the school premises.
-it is the duty of all the students to report all
misbehaviors observed to the adviser, teachers
or to the Guidance Officer.
Section 5 Cleanliness and Maintainance of
School Facilities and Surroundings
-Every student must follow and observe proper
waste disposal and segregation at all times.

Intervention
Primary-
-Dialogue with the student and the
adviser/subject teacher
-let the student sign a promissory note
Secondary
-Conference with the class adviser, parents and guidance
offiecers
-conduct home visitation
-Re-orientation of the students regarding the rules and
regulations of the school.

Tertiary
-Conference with the students, parents, adviser,
guidance officers and the Committee on Child
protection.
-Accomplish intake sheet/ referral slip
-Refer the issue to proper authority on guidance and
Counceling.
II- Don’t’s (Unacceptable Behavior)
1. School Campus Proper Decorum
2. 1.1 Social Behavior
 No shouting, boisterous laughing, playing loud
music or other gadgets including cellphones,
dragging of chairs in the classroom and in the
library.
No loitering along corridors and in front of
the classroom during class hours.
No carrying illegal and deadly weapons
such as but not limited to knife, ice pick,
gun, bladed instruments and the like
No using of cellphones or gadgets during
class hours except if the teacher require or
allow the students to use it.
No eating of junk food inside the
classroom at school campus.
 No wearing of earring by male students.
 No wearing of hats inside the classroom and
school premises.
 No instigating school strikes or participating in
any illegal activity leading to stoppage of
classes.
 No insubordination, disobedience, answering
back or discourtesy to teachers or any school
authority.
 No explicit or manifestation of romantic
relationship such as but not limited to the
following: kissing, necking and petting.
1.2 Dishonesty
 No cheating during examinations.
 Falsifying documents or other pertinent papers,
forging initials or signatures is not allowed.
 Stealing is a crime and against the law.
1.3 Bullying
 No fighting and quarrelling.
 No infecting physical injuries to fellow students.
 No bullying either physical, social, verbal and cyber.
 No possession or viewing pornographic material or
videos.

1.4 Extortion
 All monetary collections and contributions should be
approved in writing school administration.
1.5 Vices
 No gambling inside school premises
 Possessing, drinking or being under the
influence of intoxicating substances is not
allowed.
 Taking in prohibiting drugs or smoking in the
school vicinity and inside the school campus is
strictly not allowed.
1.6 Fraternity/ Sorority
 No hazing in any form or manner either inside
or outside school premises.
 Organizing and joining unauthorized clubs,
organizations and illegal fraternities is not
allowed.
Intervention
Primary
-dialogue with the students concern and the
adviser/ subject teacher.
-Require the student to sign promisory note.
-Re-orientation of the students regarding the
rules and regulations of the school.
Secondary
- Conference with the student, class adviser,
parents, and guidance officers

If injured: the offender shall pay the medical bill


of the injured party.
-Conduct Symposium or Orientation to parents
and students about the following

1. Student handbook
2. Cigarette smoking ill-effects
3. Drug Awareness
4. Effect of Bullying
5. Good Parenting

Tertiary
-conference with the students, parents, adviser,
guidance officers and committee on child
protection
-accomplish intake sheet/referral slip
-report the incident to the Barangay
Officials/PNP/DSWD/LGU for legal action.
III-Potential Risk
 There shall be schedule of
practices/activities/making project during
Saturdays and Sundays in school unless
approved by La Union Schools Division Office.
 Sending student for an errand is not allowed.
 No visitors shall be allowed inside the school
premises after class hours
 No riding/back riding on a motorcycle without
permission/consent of parents.
 Riding on an overloaded vehicle/motorcycle is
very risky.
 Unauthorized activity like outings, picnics,
gimmicks of students and teachers inside or
outside the school is not allowed.
