San Augustin Church, Manila


In 1993, San Agustin Church was one of four
Philippine churches constructed during the
Spanish colonial period
• located in General Luna St, Manila, Metro Manila.
• (Before) Made of bamboo and nipa, it was destroyed
February 1583 by fire
• The Augustinians decided to rebuild the church using
stone, and to construct an adjacent monastery.
Construction began in 1586, based on a design by Juan
Macías.
Historic Town of Vigan
Established in the 16th century, Vigan is the
best-preserved example of a planned Spanish
colonial town in Asia
• established in the 16th century
• Vigan is located at the river delta of Abra River, along the northwestern
coastline of the main island of Luzon, in the Province of Ilocos Sur,
Philippine Archipelago.
• Vigan represents a unique fusion of Asian building design and construction
with European colonial architecture and planning.
• Vigan is an exceptionally intact and well-preserved example of a European
trading town in East and South-East Asia.
Puerto Princesa
It is a city located in the western province of
Palawan, and is the westernmost city in the
Philippines.
• Historically, the place was named after Maria Cristina,
one of the princesses born to Isabella II of Spain and
her consort, Francis, Duke of Cádiz. When the princess
suffered an untimely death, the Queen changed the
name to Puerto de la Princesa. Eventually, the name was
shortened to Puerto Princesa.
Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park
The Tubbataha Natural Park also known as
Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park
• Tubbataha is a protected area of the Philippines
located in the middle of the Sulu Sea.
• The word tubbataha is a combination of two
Sama-Bajau words: tubba and taha, which together
means "a long reef exposed at low tide".
Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary
this mountain located in the province of
Davao Oriental, Philippines. It has a height of
1,620 metres (5,315 ft).

Chocolate Hills
the Chocolate Hills are a geological formation
in the Bohol province of the Philippines.
• There are at least 1,260 hills
• The Chocolate Hills is a famous tourist attraction of Bohol.
• They are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance
of natural attractions in the province
- An old coral-stone
house in Batanes
Also known as the House of Dakay, it is believed that this is the
oldest house in Batanes.

This was built in 1887 and the only stone house that was left after a
strong earthquake that hit Batanes on September 13, 1918.

Its walls are made of layers of corals and stones and are two-feet
thick, which could stand the pounding of strong winds during
typhoons. It is located in the town of Ivana.

The Minor Basilica of San Sebastian, better known as
San Sebastian Church or San Sebastian Basilica, is a
minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church in
Manila, Philippines. It is the church of the parish of
San Sebastian.
