Work in groups of 6 people
Choose a festival in a foreign country.
Use your CREATIVITY to
present it.
You can use costumes, photos,
posters, power point, etc.
Max. time 1 minute per person
Teams can not repeat festivals.
◦ Students will be able to talk about festivals
around the world.
◦ They will be aware of the social and cultural
implications of festivals; security measures,
possible problems, funding, organizers, origins
and background history.
◦ Students will practice several skills such as:
reading, writing and organizing written
information and speaking.
◦ They will also practice working as a team (Teams
of 6-5).
1. A multimedia
presentation
2. Oral Presentation
3. Written paper
Format: Font Arial 12, single space,
4-5 pages long, 750 words
Sections: Min. 5 (100-150 words
each). The sections could be:
origins and background history,
funding, organizers, problems,
security measures, main events,
target audience, etc.)
Cover. Should include title of the project,
name of the members of the group and
teacher, level and school.
Index. Containing number of pages and their
content.
Introduction. Includes thesis statement.
Objective. What is the relevance of the paper.
Subtitle 1. Each subtitle represent a main idea
and supporting detail. (One subtitle per
section)

Conclusion and references ( from videos,
websites, articles.
. A thesis statement is one sentence
that expresses the main idea of a
research paper or essay. It makes a
claim, directly answering a question. A
thesis statement must be very
specific, indicating statements that are
about to be made in your paper and
supported by specific evidence.

It should have 5-10 slides only.
There should be max of 15 words per
slide
It should include evidence of the
resource (video, quotes, pictures)
Format is open to students’ creativity,
however it should be legible and clear.
Grammar, spelling and mechanics will be
graded.
All students must give a part of the presentation.
Each group has 6-8 min (depending on the class
size)
Students will be explaining what they have studied
throughout the whole midterm, therefore they
cannot read, since they should be familiar with the
topic.
Fluency, confidence, pronunciation, grammar,
teamwork and creativity will be graded.
At the end of each presentation the teacher will ask
2 questions for the presenting team or the audience.
◦ This project will be worth 20% of
the midterm grade (for better
understanding, check timetable
and rubrics).

Helps the other team
members to write a
paper in an organized,
structured and clear
way. He should include
all of his
teammates’dialogues
and check that their
ideas are creative and
interesting. He should
write his ideas in his
teammates dialogues
He should bring
evidence, e.g. the
other students drafts
with his comments.
Puts the story in a a Power
Point Presentation.
He may include pictures as a
background for the story with
only 15 words included as
text.
He must include all the
dialogues in separate slides.
He presents the final
document using fonts Times
or Arial 12.
He designs a cover page for
the team’s story. He sends
the powerpoint presentation
with the information to
