AIR BRAKE SELF TEST PROCEDURE (MEDHA)

1.Ensure loco and train is secured as per procedure.

2.Isolate loco from formation by closing BP Angular COC of loco between formation and loco
3.Ensure Throttle handle in “IDLE” position, Reverser handle in “NEUTRAL’ position, Isolate switch in “ISOLATE”
position
4.In working control stand keep Lead/Trial switch in Lead position, Auto brake handle in ‘RUN’ position and Direct
Brake handle in ‘FULL’ application.
5.Press Main Menu button on the Display panel and select Self test by pressing 2 on number key pad.
6.Enter password 12345
7.Select OK(F3)
8.Select Auto test(F3)
9.Select Air brake test(F3)
10.Press Enter(F3)
11.Press F3 to start Airbrake Self test
12.Display shows ‘Air brake self test in progress’
13.Now wait till display shows ‘ Air brake test is completed successfully no defects found’
14.Select End Test(F4)
15.Press Exit(F4)
16.Now Air brake self test is completed. Follow instructions on the display to restore normal Air brake operation.

KEEP A/B IN EMERGENCY FOR 60 sec

THEN KEEP A/B IN RUN POSITION AND PRESS F4

Note: If Air brake self test failed, then note the defect code digital number
on CRU display. And make working console to non-working and non-
working to working console. Again conduct Air brake self to that console .
If succeeds then work with that console and if fails note the number and
inform to concern shed.
