PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

• Student Leadership Enhancement

Designed to develop competency skills in


effective campus leadership and management
in order to meet the demands of global society,
this program is sponsored by student
organizations throughout the School Year.
• Sports and Physical Fitness Program

This program promotes overall physical and


mental health in coordination, with the
Athletic Director. It also strengthens
camaraderie and bonding among students.
This includes scheduled activities like
aerobics, on-campus jogging/running, martial
arts, and popular sports such as lawn tennis,
volleyball, Filipino native games and others.
• Aesthetics Enhancement Program

This is designed to meet students’ needs to


express themselves in creative ways, and
through alternative means in visual, literary
musical, dance, and alternative forms.
Consisting of a series of workshops and
exhibits, this program represents the
University’s pursuit of beauty, peace and
harmony.
• Responsible Citizenship Program

This aims to promote Filipino culture, history,


tradition and values toward the Filipino dream of
stable democracy is a strong Republic. It includes
social responsibility, socio-civic mindedness,
sensitivity training, voter’s education, current
issues involvement, and other similar educational
inputs. Activities under this program may be
coordinated with the Community Development
Office and Cultural Affairs.
• Campus Volunteers Program

This aims to empower service-oriented


students who wish to spice up their University
lives with voluntary services to students, the
University and the community.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES

A. Activity advising to individuals, organizations, or groups of


organizations
B. Review and routing for approval of all co- curricular and extra-
curricular activities.
C. Repository of all student co- curricular and extra- curricular post
activity written and photographic.
D. Coordination of the use of University facilities and equipments.
E. Provision of opportunities for leadership training and talent
development.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENT ORGANIZATION AND PUBLICATION

A. Supervision of the Student Council, the COMELEC, and The


Standard (Official Publication), and student organizations.

B. Responding to and coordinating with the Government and


other relevant organizations or agencies for matters pertaining
to student organizations.

GRIEVANCE AND COMPLAIN MECHANISMS

A. Entertaining, settling and referring of student


complains to proper authorities.

B. Overseeing student conduct within the


campus premises.

C. Providing first- line grievance mechanisms


for students.

INFORMATION ON SCHOLARSHIP

The OSA Acts as information docket for


academic and non- academic scholarship. ( See
section of Student Assistance Program for the list
of available scholarship and discounts.)

Complaints

All complaints must be submitted personally


and in writing, in triplicate with the appropriate
provision of the name and identity of the
complainant, and address, student number and
contact numbers. The students are assured of
confidentiality.

Suggestions and Comments

Suggestions and/or comments are welcome


from the students anytime during office hours.
Suggestion boxes are provided throughout the
campus premises.

Counseling

Students approaching the OSA for counseling


may be entertained depending on the nature of
the problem encountered or referred to the
Guidance Office where applicable.
MAJOR AND MINOR OFFENSES

1. Wearing inappropriate attire, such as, but not limited to slippers,


shorts, sando, and the like, or failure to wear proper uniforms when
required;
2. Failure to conspicuously wear University issued ID while inside the
campus;
3. Improper use of facilities such as laboratories, library, canteen, etc.;
4. Entering the classroom without permission from the teacher/
professor;
5. Running, loitering, and huddling noisily in groups, conversing in
boisterous manner and any act which would disrupt on- going
classes, presentation or performance;
6. Petting and/ or necking anywhere within the campus premises;
7. Any acts unbecoming a student; and
8. Smoking anywhere inside the University premises

1. Gross misconduct which includes any forms of cheating during


examination or acts of dishonesty in relation to their academic studies;
2. Any form of hazing;
3. Entering the University campus with a firearm, bladed weapon, and
explosive materials designed to start fire of explosion, unless such object
are to be utilized in connection with any experiment or laboratory work.
In such case, a permit to effect entry of such object should be secured
from the Dean or Director of the College or Department concerned;
4. Acts of immorality;
5. Selling and/ or possession of prohibited drugs or substance such as but to
limited to marijuana, shabu, heroin, and the like within the University
premises;
6. Entering the campus under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
7. Hooliganism which is an act manifesting a rough and lawless attitude of a
young peer;
8. Any form of vandalism;

9. Any form of gambling within the University premises;


10. Assault or acts relative thereto, against a pupil, student or school
personnel;
11. Instigating or leading to illegal assembly of similar activities resulting in
the stopping of classes.
12. Any act of preventing or threatening any pupil or student or school
personnel from entering the school premises or attending to or
discharging his duties;
13. Forging or tampering of any university documents, records or forms and/
or securing or using tampered or forged records, documents or forms;
14. Bring obscene or pornographic materials;
15. Any misconduct done outside the University premises which involved his
status as a student or is prejudicial to the good name or reputation of the
University;
16. Any act constituting a crime of offense violating Penal Law of the
country.

Existing provisions of laws, rules, and regulations


notwithstanding, the following duties and responsibilities are
incumbent upon all students of the University in all levels:

a.) To develop their talent and innate potential in order


to become more productive and constructive members of the
academe and the society as a whole;

b.) To maintain the honor, integrity and reputation of


the University at all times within and outside the University
premises;

c.) To abide by the rules and regulations as well as the


norms of conducts duly promulgated for the purpose;

d.) To participate actively in curricular and co-


curricular activities with the end view of attaining a just and
humane community; and

e.) To exercise their rights prudently with the awareness


that corollary to these rights are corresponding obligations,
the omission of which will violate the rights of others.

Arellano University as an institution of learning, is


committed to provide quality education geared towards
national development within the context of academic
freedom. To attain this objective, it aims to provide the
student try with an environment conductive to learning,
adequate and sufficient for the enhancement of young minds
towards the greater concept of responsibility, leadership and
values. Thus, it is essential to promulgate rules of conduct
that will govern the students’ actuation within and outside
the University.
