ADVERB
a word that modifies
verbs, adjectives
and other adverbs.
That idea is simply
ridiculous.
She sings nicely.
She did it really well.
CHANGING AN
ADJECTIVE
TO ADVERB
In
changing an
adjective to adverb, we
usually put –ly at the
end of the given
adjective.
Examples:
Slow – Slowly
Soft- Softly
Beautiful – Beautifully
TRUE – TRULY
HAPPY – HAPPILY
POSSIBLE –
POSSIBLY
FULL– FULLY
DYNAMIC -
DYNAMICALLY
However, this is not
the only way to form
an adverb. Many
adverbs do not end
in -ly.

Some adjectives change
their form when they
become adverbs:

REMEMBER:
To decide whether a
word is an adverb ask
questions with
how, where and when.
He speaks
Spanish fluently.
They play
soccer here.
She wrote the e-
mail
immediately.
