SCALES TO MEASURE HEALTH STATUS

•Height
–The subject stands bare footed on a standiometer with a
movable head piece. The head piece is levelled with skull
vault and height is recorded to the nearest 0.5 cm.
•Weight measurement
–Use a regularly caliberated electronic or balanced-beam
scale.
–Read to the nearest 100 gm (0.1 kg)
Hip Circumference
Is measured at the point of greatest circumference
around hips and buttocks to the nearest 0.5cm
