About the Sumatran Tiger

Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) is a subspecies that

remains in Indonesia. Two other subspecies that have been there are
the Java tiger and the Bali tiger have been declared extinct before.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, currently the
number of Sumatran tigers continues to decline due to habitat loss and
hunting on a large scale. When compared to the 1970's year about 1,000
individuals, now, it is estimated that only about 350 individuals only.
Sumatran tiger can breed anytime. The pregnancy
period is about 103 days. Usually the female tiger gives birth
to 2 or 3 tiger at once, and at most 6 baby. Sumatran tiger
can live for 15 years in the wild, and 20 years in conservation.
Endocrine concept applications can be tried to apply to
Sumatran tiger conservation. In general, the reproductive
hormone is produced by three main parts there are
Hypothalamus, Pituitary, and Gonadotropin. These three parts
play an important role in synthesizing or secreting
reproductive hormones.

Tropical tigers will reproduce throughout the year.
Generally, females enter the lust cycle about 30-40 days, with
long lust between 4-8 days. In the lust age the females can
copulate up to 40 times. If GnRH hormone induced in the tiger
in the breeding area after delivery, it is expected to
accelerate the tiger to re-enter the cycle of lust for a faster
span or spacing of the birth time that will occur.
