Purpose of Essay
6 marks: Very clear and insightful.
5 marks: Mostly clear and insightful.
4 marks: Fairly clear and with some insight.
3 marks: Somewhat clear, but with some
confusing aspects.
2 marks: Generally unclear and confusing.
1 mark: Extremely confusing.
Organization and Development
6 marks: Well organized and fully developed with
excellent supporting material.
5 marks: Generally well organized and
developed, with appropriate supporting
material.
4 marks: Reasonably organized and partly
developed with supporting ideas.
3 marks: inadequate organization; Inadequate or
weak supporting material.
2 marks: Poor organization; thin development.
1 mark: Very poor organization; very thin
development.
Use of Sentences
6 marks: Varied and engaging sentence structure.
5 marks: Sufficiently varied sentence structure.
4 marks: Some sentence variation.
3 marks: Little sentence variation; minor
sentence errors.
