ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY

• It is done to determine the various direct and indirect benefits associated


with the project, viz. fuel consumption savings, operating cost of vehicles,
travel time, pollution etc.

• By comparing the “with” & “without” project scenario, the proposed


metro work is analyzed for economic feasibility. The former explains the
estimated total costs, the local economy has to bear and the latter
envisages the increased estimate cost due to higher projected traffic with
the continuation of the existing infrastructure.

• Market prices are used to estimate the cost and benefit streams and
shadow prices are used to compute the economic values.

It is inferred from the analysis that benefits are higher than the cost marginally by a
ratio of 1.065.

• Construction cost – Rs 5,949.94 crores
• Rolling stock –Rs 1,810.85 crores
• Operating Cost- Rs 4,322.40
• Land costs in RoW- Rs 1,043 crores
• Other land for stations Depot etc- Rs 2009.58
ENVIRONMENTAL IMAPCT ASSESSMENT
• The property alignment is studied for detailed environmental assessment
& comprehensive environmental baseline data was collected.

• Care has been taken so that neither plants , trees or endangered species
exist along the proposed alignment area.

• A comprehensive environment management plan has been drawn to


minimize the negative environmental impacts.

• Environmental and social assessment studies were conducted by


Environment Protection Training & Research Institute(EPTRI), Hyderabad.
