Life Performance Outcomes

LPO4:
“I am a conscientious, adept performer and
achiever, competently pursuing my mission in
life.”
Essential Performance
Outcomes

EPO10:
“Openly demonstrate their basic and advanced
Science process skills as experienced individuals
and improve them according to the feedback they
receive.”
Intended Learning Outcomes

ILO:
“Openly demonstrate the basic and advanced
Earth Science process skills.”
MINIATURE ART
A replica of something
but of a much smaller
size than normal.

It can be seen on art

museums to illustrate
different location,
scenario and things on a
smaller scale.
MODELLING CLAY
Malleable clay used for
making three-
dimensional models.

It is used in building
models and in sculpting.
GENERAL REMINDERS
1) Please be careful in using the cutter. As much as possible,
use the cutter only during the fitting of the miniature.
2) Some of the content of the modelling clay may be your
allergen or can activate your allergic reactions.
3) The extra bond paper will be used to write the ff. details:
a. Time schedule
b. Key features of miniature

POST LABORATORY
(Plate Movements)
This type of plate boundary
is also called the
destructive plate
boundary.

It occurs where two plates

are pushing toward each
CONVERGENT other.
BOUNDARY
One of the plates subducts
beneath the other.
When this happen, it may
result into a TRENCH.
SUBDUCTION ZONES are
regions where a portion of
CONVERGENT the tectonic plates are
BOUNDARY dividing beneath other
plates into Earth’s interior.
THREE TYPES:
1) Oceanic – oceanic
- It occurs when two
oceanic plates meet and one
oceanic plate is pushed
underneath the other.
2) Oceanic – continental
- It occurs when an oceanic
plate pushes into and moves
underneath a continental plate.
THREE TYPES:
3) Continental - continental
- It occurs when two
continents meet head on.
The result of this
convergence is the formation
of tall mountain ranges.
Ex. Himalayas (Earth’s
highest mountain belt)
A zone where two lithospheric
plates move apart from each
other. It is also known as
Constructive Boundary.

It is marked by a MID-
OCEANIC RIDGE, which is a
characteristic of an oceanic-
spreading center that is
DIVERGENT
responsible for seafloor
BOUNDARY spreading.
A zone between two plates that
slide horizontally past one
another. It is also called as
Conservative Boundary.

There are different

products/results of this
boundary:
a) Fracture Zones –
TRANSFORM
Seafloor
BOUNDARY b) Faults – Land formation
TRANSFORM FAULTS that
connects convergent and
divergent plate boundaries
RIDGE RIDGE TRANSFORM FAULT

Connects two (2) segments

of a divergent plate
boundary.

Active displacement occurs

only between the ridge
segments.

Dead Sea transform system

RIDGE TRENCH TRANSFORM FAULT

Connects a ridge and a

trench.

Forms an important
connection between
spreading and converging
plates.

Queen Charlotte Island Fault

TRENCH TRENCH TRANSFORM FAULT

A couple trenches at two (2)

different convergent plate
boundaries.
