Captions

A caption is a title, short explanation or description


accompanying an illustration or a photograph. captions
include a piece of text appearing on a cinema or
television screen as part of a film or broadcast. a title or
heading of a legal document, or an article in a magazine
is also called a caption. caption can be written in forms
of words, phrases or sentences.

Helping readers or viewers to
understand more information that

How to a write caption text?

caption.
• Find out the message that will be sent from
the picture before you write caption.
• Write sentence or phrase under the picture.
Criteria For a Good Caption

1. It clearly identifies the subject of the


picture, without detailing the
obvious.
2. It is succinct.
3. It establishes the picture's relevance
to the article.
4. It provides context for the picture.
5. It draws the reader to the article.
