What Vedic scriptures say?

 Purāṇas : "Persons who attempt to visit the holy places of pilgrimage, like
Vṛndāvana, Mathurā or Dvārakā, are actually glorified. By such traveling
activities, they can pass over the desert of material existence.“

 Hari-bhakti-sudhodaya : "Persons who are impelled by pure devotional service

in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and who therefore go to see the Deities of Viṣṇu in the
temple will surely get relief from entering again into the prison house of a
mother's womb."
What Guru says ?

 Srila Prabhupada said, “If you build a temple of Lord Krishna in this world, He
will build a palace for you in the spiritual world- Vaikuntha”
 “Just like we have got a tendency to construct a skyscraper building. As in
your country, you do. So you should not be attached to the skyscraper
building, but you can utilise the tendency by constructing a big temple like
skyscraper for Krishna. In this way, you have to purify your material
activities." - Srila Prabhupada in a class in front of the Samadhi of Srila Rupa
Gosvami in Vrindavan, Oct 29th, 1972
 "This is Krishna conscious vision: ‘Oh, there are so many skyscrapers.Why not

How to test ?

 Sadhu-sastra-guru: one has to test all spiritual matters according to the

instructions of saintly persons, scriptures and the spiritual master.

 Sadhu sastra, guru vakya, tinete kariya aikya. Spiritual realization can be
perfected by three parallel process. Sastra means scriptures, authoritative
scriptures, Vedic scriptures, sastra. Sadhu, sastra, and guru, a spiritual
master.
