Community Fitness
• Communit Fitness programs can be offered in a variety
of community settings including schools, offices and etc.
• This program often include exercise classes such as
spinning/indoor cycling, aerobic dance classes, Zumba,
Pilates, Taebo, Dancercise and Yoga.
Steps in Organizing
Community Activities
1. Form a group
- In a group each member should be trustworthy and responsible
enough to deliver efficiently and effectively in their task.
2. Set goals
- Set your target goals to guide direction of your plan. These should
be clear and realistic.
3. Preparation
- Have a research about the community where you are going to
conduct the program or activity.
- Also consider the resources, facilities, and equipment that are
available in that community.
4. Planning
- Brainstorm about the kinds of activities that you want to do.
- Decide what kinds of supplies you will need for your activities.
- Determine the number of participants that you can accomodate
and
how many activities can take place simultaneously.
5. Communicate
- Post flyers in public space
- Use community bulletin boards
- Ask area business to spread the word (e.g., flyers at registers or
posters in store windows).
- Make announcements in schools, churches, or civic groups.
6. Implement
- Create a to-do list to guide you through the whole
activity.
- Designate people in different work teams according to
their
respective talents and skills.
- Make sure that team leader and coordinators are at the
site early to
set up and greet the community members as they
arrive.
- Document the event through photos and videos.
