MANAGEMENT STYLES IN

MOVIES
AUTOCRATIC LEADERSHIP
DARTH VADER
Darth Vader from Star Wars is a good example of an Autocratic
Leader in a movie series. This is because of his harsh punishments for
people who break laws, and go against what he says.

WALTER WHITE
Walter White is a great example of an Autocratic Leader because
of how he runs his meth business. He makes people do what he says
because he is the boss, and they do what he says. He is also known
for his harsh punishments and keeping people out of “his territory”.
He likes to do this by killing or harming anyone that comes into his
territory.
DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP
SIMBA
Simba from “The Lion King” is a good example of a character in a
movie that shows Democratic Leadership. Unlike his father, he likes
to make decisions based off of asking other people’s opinions and
hearing them out before making final decisions.

YODA
Yoda is another good example of a character from a movie that
shows Democratic Leadership. He voices his opinion, but listens to
others as well and likes to make final decisions democratically, using
the other people’s opinions. Yoda serves in a regime that was very
Democratic, so this knowledge and style of leadership transferred
over to himself.
LAISSEZ-FAIRE LEADERSHIP
JOHN HAMMOND, CEO OF JURASSIC PARK
John Hammond from Jurassic Park is a great example of a Laissez-
Faire Leader. He gave the scientists at the park a sizeable amount
of funding and then he just left them to it, and decided to drop by
for a surprise visit.

HAN SOLO
Han Solo from Star wars is another great example of a Laissez-Faire
Leader. Once Han Solo leaves the Millennium Falcon he leaves his
sidekick, and he lets Chewbacca go by himself and make his own
decisions. If he gives Chewbacca any instruction it is usually
minimal, therefore Han Solo is a great example of a Laissez-Faire
Leader.
