Breaker

An apparatus capable of interrupting or opening an electrical circuit

when the intensity of the electrical current flowing through it exceeds a
certain value, or in which a short circuit has occurred, in order to avoid
damage to electrical equipment. Unlike fuses, which must be replaced
after a single use, the circuit breaker can be reset once the problem
that caused its trip or automatic deactivation has been located and
repaired.
Circuit breaker
 Circuit breakers have different properties according to their purpose.
It can work with different currents and voltages, withstand up to a
certain intensity and receive between one and four poles.
 A thermal circuit breaker is one that opens the circuit and interrupts
the current when it detects an overload. This is possible because the
excessive intensity of the current dilates it until its opening is produced.
A magnetic circuit breaker, on the other hand, can record faults
linked to a short circuit and open the circuit thanks to the creation of
a magnetic field. There are also magneto-thermal circuit breakers,
which combine both performances.
 A differential circuit breaker, on the other hand, controls that the
same current flows through the different poles. When the current has
different amperages in the poles, the circuit breaker interrupts the
circulation of physical form. By their operation, differential circuit
breakers protect people's lives: if an individual receives a shock due to
a loss of current in a system, the circuit breaker interrupts the passage
as soon as it detects that the current passed to earth through the
subject's body, without returning to the plug.
 It is important to know not only that there are different circuit breakers
but also to be very clear about what you want to achieve to be able to
find the right one. And for that you have to bear in mind characteristics
that these have and which must be given special attention:
 -The number of poles, to know how many devices can be connected
to it.
 -The working voltage, which is the voltage for which they were created.
In this case, we are going to run into three-phase and single-phase.
 -The closing power, which comes to be the maximum intensity that is
able to withstand a circuit breaker without suffering any damage.
 -The breaking power, which is the maximum intensity that is able to
interrupt.
Interruptor electromagnético

 The operation of the thermomagnetic switch is based on the magnetic field and
heat, two effects caused by the circulation of electric current in any conductor.
Based on this, the device is constituted by an electromagnet that responds to
magnetic variations and a bimetallic sheet as a temperature sensor.

 When the current passes through the electromagnet, a force is produced that
generates an electromagnetic field that strongly attracts a nucleus; when the field
acquires sufficient force to drag the complete nucleus, the circuit is opened.

 In other words, the mechanical effect of the electromagnet opens the circuit only if
it is the case that the intensity of the electrical energy exceeds a certain limit,
however, these maximum values can be modified at any time, which is why
manufacturers have developed different electromagnetic switches that stop the
current when it exceeds different values.
