Lingustics is the scientific study of language and its structure, including

the study of grammar, syntax, and phonetics

Phonology is the study of the sound patterns of language. Its
concerned with how sounds are organized in a language.
Examples: /ˈmɔː(r)nɪŋ/ = morning
/klɑːs/ = class
/lɑːf/ = laugh
/lʌv/ = love
Syntax
Is the study of sentence structure. Its attemps to describe what is
grammatical in aparticular language in term of rules.
Semantics
Semantics is the study of meaning. It is concerned with describing how
we represent the meaning of word which in our mind and how we use
this representation in constructing sentences
