Worlds.
■ Sleipnir was born when Loki shape-shifted into a
mare and became pregnant by the stallion of a
giant.

Hugin and
Munin
The Two Ravens
 Hugin and Mugin
■ Two ravens who are helping the
spirits of Odin.
■ The ravens sit on Odin’s
shoulders and whisper all the
news they hear and see into his
ear.
■ Odin sends them out in the
morning to fly around the whole
worlds, and by breakfast they
are back again.
■ Odin find out many new things through these
ravens and thus he is called the raven-god.

■ Odin walking along the coast of new land mass with
two companions found tree trunks lying on the
beach which shaped like a man and woman. But
they were lifeless and powerless, so the gods
decided to give what they lack and make them true
humans.
■ Odin blew them the breath of life, while his two
companions imparted inspired mental activity,
health complexion, and the ability to see, hear and
speak.
■ They dressed them in suitable clothes and names
the man- Ask and the woman-Embla.
■ Midgard was given to them for their dwelling-place. Origin of
And they became the mother and father of the Ask and
entire human species.

■ The most terribly powerful entities in the
cosmos- more even than gods.
■ There are great of them and some are from the
gods, others from the elves and dwarves.
■ In Voluspa, Norns are mysterious being who
don’t seem to come from any kinds of beings
who populate the nine worlds. There are exactly
three of them-
□ Urd (“The past”)
□ Verdandi (“What is presently coming into
being?”) and

Vanir at the conclusion of the
Aesir-Vanor War.
■ Wisest of all beings.
■ There was no question for which he
did not have a ready and satisfying
answer.
■ He took up the life of a wanderer,
dispensing his wisdom to all whom
he met along the road.
■ But got killed by the two dwarves
