This document discusses engineered self-healing concrete using crystalline admixtures and super absorbent polymers (SAPs). It aims to improve mechanical properties and self-healing abilities of concrete through the addition of these materials. The methodology involves casting concrete cubes and cylinders with varying amounts of crystalline admixture and SAP to study their effects on compressive and tensile strength under different curing environments like water immersion and wet-dry cycles. The conclusions are that concrete with both crystalline admixture and 0.5% SAP exhibits the best self-healing properties when exposed to water.

1.Reduction of durability of concrete
2.Reduces structural safety and serviceability 3.Stiffness reduction 4.Steel bar corrosion 5.Improper functioning Self-healing Concrete Self sealing/closing : Ability of closing cracks Self healing: Ability of closing cracks and restoring physical/mechanical properties Autogenous self sealing /healing due to own concrete constituents Autonomic(engineered) self sealing/ healing triggered by engineered additions Why Self-healing concrete
Traditional repairs are expensive
Sense and respond to damage , restore performance without affecting inherent properties KEY:-No human intervention required . It is like modeling and mimicking of the human body and other living systems which have the ability to Self-heal. Objectives

The crack width between 0.2 & 0.4 is maintained and placed in different environmental exposures As the most shrinkage cracks occurs few days after casting ,pre-cracking is fixed at 2 days for early age cracks. Conclusions The following conclusion can be drawn from the results:
The regained mechanical properties of tested specimens are reliable
compared to the control concrete specimens. Concrete with crystalline admixture and (0.5%) SAP will shows better healing ability of water immersion ,wet-dry cycles , water contact condition on self healing concrete using superabsorbent polymer. THANK YOU
