What is
Organizational behavior (OB) is the academic study
of the ways people act within groups. Its principles
are applied primarily in attempts to make businesses
operate more effectively.

The study of organizational behavior includes:


• Areas of research dedicated to improving job
performance.
• Increasing job satisfaction.
• Promoting innovation.
• Encouraging leadership.
What is Practices
• Organizational Practices are located immediately
outside of the Core Culture. They are not the
elements of Core Culture; they are the behaviors
that convert ideals to actions which keep the
culture alive.

• Organizational Practices are either Internal – within


your organization – or External – with those outside
the organization.
INTERNAL PRACTICES
• Internal Practices are the inner workings of the organization
that affect employee relationships, interactions and
accomplishments.

 Internal Practices include:

EXTERNAL PRACTICES
• External Practices define how your organization interacts
with outsiders – those who are not employees.

RELIANCE JIO
Jio is an Indian telecommunications services
company that is owned by Reliance Industries and is
headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra

Jio operates a national LTE network with coverage


across all 22 telecom circles, however it does not
offer 2G or 3G service and instead uses voice over LTE
to provide voice service on its network.

Ability to find importance in ordinary- It focuses
attention on human sides of organizational life & finds
significance in even its most ordinary aspects

Appropriate system of work- It clarifies the


importance of creating appropriate systems of work
in the organization to help people work together
toward desired outcomes.

leaders, to acknowledge the impact of their behavior
on the organisation’s culture.

encourages the view that the perceived relationship

Organizational culture is possibly the most critical
factor determining an organization capacity,
effectiveness & longevity. It also contributes

Bad OB Practices Of Jio
Lack of workshops & training of staff- Organization should
provide proper workshop & training of staff on how to
improve team work in teams, this will ensure increase in
performance.

Lack of motivation- There is a need to motivate


employees
in the organization like allowances, holiday retreats,
increased
salaries, promotion etc. This will lead to reduction in
Employees Turnover Rate.
Small space of work- There should be bigger space of
organization. Clients in the organization are many &
increasing but the space is small. For instance the seats
are
few & queues get long though.

Weak Network- There are large no. of users in the


company
who are facing trouble in network, because they update
their
software and hardware time to time.

Sometimes work is not given as per ability- Sometimes


work is not given as per ability. Employees having skills
are given the
work of very low skill like making daily reports.
COCA-COLA
• The Company Coca-Cola is a beverage company,
they act as makers, they distribute, and marketer of
non-alcoholic beverage drinks and syrups.

• The company is greatly known for its bellwether


product Coca-Cola, it is created by pharmacist
John Stith Pemberton in year 1986.

• The Coca-Cola Company’s main centre of


operations is in Atlanta, Georgia.

• At The Coca-Cola Company, the employees work
hard to create an inclusive work environment that
includes the respect of their associates and values
both their contributions and differences.

• Coca Cola Company providing a safe and healthy


working environment for all of their employees

• To motivate the employees they offer them benefits.


One benefit that coca cola offers is a 401K plan.
• Coca Cola Company pay higher to motivate the
employees.

Bad OB Practices Of
Coca-Cola
As the competition is increasing in the soft drinks industry,
management of Coca-Cola is primarily focusing on the
maintaining its position in the market. Hence, the focus
of leadership is somewhat diverts from well-being of the
employees.

It is observed that leadership style of Coca-Cola does not


allowing the employees to be a part of the
organizational decision-making processes.
The management of Coca-Cola is behaving
insensitively with its executively level of employees.
As a result, the company is having trouble in
keeping the executive level of employees
associated with the organization.
GOOGLE
Google is a multinational, publicly-traded
organization built around the company's hugely
popular search engine. Google.com is the most
visited website in the world.
Several other Google services also figure in the top
100 most visited websites,
including YouTube and Blogger.

• Middle management is dangerously political.
• Sometimes employees work for a long with full effort
but not get any promotion.
• Sexual harassment with employees
• There is a layer of intelligent individuals who are
horrible.
NESTLE
• Nestlé with headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland was
founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé and is today the
world’s leading nutrition, health and Wellness
Company.
• Since its founding, Nestlé’s business practices have
been governed by integrity, honesty, fair dealing
and full compliance with all applicable laws.
• Nestlé’s reputation remains one of the Company’s
most important assets today.

• The importance of the individual is recognized by Nestlé.
Great focus has been placed by the company on employee
participation and empowerment, which are necessary for
success and long-term growth of the company.

• The suggestions, concerns and issues of employees are


always welcomed.

• The employees of Nestlé are focused on openness, loyalty,


consistency, competence and integrity.

• To some extent workers and employees are encouraged to
participate in decision making and in every new package
offered by the company, the opinions of the employees are
asked.

• Employees can communicate with their superiors and their


suggestions are always welcomed, as mostly downward
communication takes place within the organization.

Overall employees are satisfied with their company
and jobs. But from the research, a few bad
organizational behaviour practices have been found
out that are practiced at Nestlé.

• Not much promotion opportunities are given to the


employees.
• Specific job related training is not imparted to
employees which could give an additional benefit
to employees for improving their skills.
Bad OB practices of
Nestlé
• Lack of professional counselling programmes to
provide employees with the information, regarding
future prospects at Nestlé and in the mobile
industry.
• Existence of artificial barriers between employees
and management.
Conclusion
As we seen the various practices of many
companies, like – Google, Apple, Jio, Coca-cola.
& Nestle. So it is their practices which makes the
image goes up or down. Sometimes the Person
holding high post can influence the behaviour of
whole organization. So they must try to avoid the
bad practices to be happened, and try to develop
the good practices.
