The addition of these waves was accomplished for each
instant in time by adding the amplitudes of the waves alge braically ,at each value of x,to obtain the resultant wave. The are two additional ways to add waves of the same frequency that are sometimes easier to apply to a general three –dimensional wave. We will demontrate the three approaches by applying them to the addition of two or more scalar plane waves of the form ADDITION OF WAVE ADDITION OF WAVE ADDITION OF WAVE COMPLEX APPROACH COMPLEX APPROACH COMPLEX APPROACH INTERFERENCE INTERFERENCE INTERFERENCE INTERFERENCE YOUNG’S INTERFERENCE YOUNG’S INTERFERENCE YOUNG’S INTERFERENCE YOUNG’S INTERFERENCE DIELECTRIC LAYER DIELECTRIC LAYER DIELECTRIC LAYER DIELECTRIC LAYER MICHELSON INTERFEROMETER MICHELSON INTERFEROMETER MICHELSON INTERFEROMETER MICHELSON INTERFEROMETER INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION INTERFERENCE BY MULTIPLE REFLECTION THANK YOU
