INTRODUCTION

The season of Christmas is fast approaching. We, the University of Bohol Senior
High School students, have conceptualize “Children is Love, Share the Blessings
from Above” that is aimed to address problems primarily with children who are
suffering from malnutrition. Malnutrition is a condition that occurs when a person’s
diet does not contain the right amount of nutrients. It affects billions of people
worldwide leading to serious health issues, including stunted growth, eye
problems, diabetes and heart disease. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to help
and relieve the burdens of the parents and provide great experience this coming
holiday.
RATIONALE/BACKGROUND

Malnutrition is widespread across the country. Every day, according to UNICEF

(United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) Philippines, 95 children
die from malnutrition and 27 out of 100 do not get past their fifth birthday while a
third of their population is stunted for their age. Malnutrition does not only refer to
the lack of nutrients but also of gaining much of certain ones that result to serious
health issues. Poverty is its most fundamental cause. With “Children is Love, Share
the Blessings from Above” program, we will be able to reach areas specifically in
the province of Bohol that needed attention.
