COLD CHAIN
 The process of maintaining the potency of the
vaccines from the manufacturer to the
consumer
 Through a refrigerator or ice boxes
 OPV and AMV
 Heat sensitive
 Must be placed in the freezer ( -25 °C to – 15 °C)
 BCG, DPT, HEPA B and TT
 Must be placed at the body of the refrigerator ( 2-8 °C)
DON’T GIVE VACCINES TO:
 Immunocompromised (HIV)
 Withhyperpyrexia
 Dehydrated

Infants with cough, colds and


diarrhea and those who are
malnourished CAN be immunized.
