    The Past Simple is used to describe completed actions in the past, and usually translates to the perfect tense in Romanian. The Past Continuous describes an ongoing or progressive action in the past. It is usually used when the imperfect tense would be used in Romanian. Some verbs cannot be used in the continuous form. Examples are provided to illustrate the difference between using the Past Simple and Past Continuous forms.
