 Introduction
A smart city is a
designation given to
a city that incorporates
information and
communication
technologies (ICT) to
enhance the quality and
performance of urban
services such as energy,
transportation and utilities
in order to reduce resource
consumption, wastage and
overall costs.
• Need of Smart City.
Smart Cities are designed
for usage of space and
resources with an effective
and optimum distribution of
benefits. It also aims at
increasing connectivity at
various levels among
citizens as well as between
the administration and
population.

Data and statistics
• More than 250,000 classrooms now equipped with SMART Board interactive
whiteboards.(Thomas Industry Update)
• Total number of schools in India stands at 1.3 million, and only around 10 per cent of the
private schools have tapped the potential of multimedia classroom teaching, whereas in
government schools, it has barely made any inroads.
• Indian Government is planning to set up virtual classrooms and online courses for school
education, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said during his budget speech for 2014- 15. The
Finance Minister proposed an allocation of `100 crore for this initiative’.
• According to our survey on Quora we got to know that downloading wifi speed at Harvard
reaches upto 900 Mbps and uploading speed upto 600 Mbps.
• Asking on Quora we got suggestion that every school, college and university should have
campus hospital and on every 500 students there should be one counsellor.
• More than 800 colleges use the Application! At least one college in every state accepts it. In
addition, more than 50 international universities from 18 countries accept the Application.
• Smart City Inspector is an android app that collect
data and aircraft captured images to bring solutions
to water management, smart data analysis and
smart planning for the future of the city.

• Smart City 3D is an android app that help in

efficient use of all kind of energies and improve the
traffic situations on its territory. The result should
be to improve the environment and maintaining a
pleasant space for living.
