Introduction
The main objective of this project is to maximize
the energy production by solar photovoltaic
systems throughout the year.
Another goal is to estimate the increase in
efficiency of the system by adding a solar tracking
system and to find out how much time will it take
to recover the additional investment (for solar
tracking)
Prediction of cloudy or sunny weather.

3 November 2019 4
Motivation
Promoting the importance of Renewable Source
of Energy
Vellore is a very hot region with a lot of Sunlight
Conservation of conventional sources of energy

3 November 2019 5
Applications
 When done on a large scale, this will increase the
energy conversion efficiency drastically as there will be
very few sensors but large panels.
The voltage output of the panel is monitored on
cloud platform which can check if the weather is cloudy
or not.
Anywhere where conventional solar panels are used.
Its application is in energy sector where the effective
power output can be increased drastically.

Literature Review
REF. Approach Remarks Accuracy

1. Solar panels Photovoltaic solar panels absorb sunlight as a 15-20

source of energy to generate direct
current electricity.

2. Arduino To convert the analog data to digital data for the 100
Raspberry pi
3. Raspberry Pi To send the data collected from sensors to Firebase 100

4. Python GUI To Graphically represent the data collected from 100

firebase after its processing

Any Novelty in your work?
Rotating solar panels in dual axis according to
direction of sunlight.
Prediction of cloudy or sunny weather according
to sensor data.
Maximizing solar panel efficiency.
Sending and receiving data from Cloud.
