How to make Halloween

Carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns
• Originated hundreds of years ago in Ireland.
Ingredients
For the cookies:
• 9 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
• 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 3 large eggs
• 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice mix
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F
2. Make the cookie dough
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.
Mix just enough to combine the ingredients.
3. Chill the dough (30 min)

4. Portion the cookie dough onto the

baking sheets

5. Flatten the dough

6. Bake the cookies (10 or 12 min)

7. While the cookies cool, make the frosting

8. Cut out Jack-o'-Lantern faces

10. Assemble the sandwich cookies
