Corporate culture

“Corporate culture refer to the share values,


attitude , standards , and believes that
characterize members of organization and
define its nature. Corporate culture is rooted
in an organization’s goals, strategies, structure
an approaches to labor ,customers, investors
and the great community.”
Group

“A group can be defined as two or more


interacting and interdependent individuals
who come together to achieve particulars
objectives”
Types of group
Two categories of groups affect ethical
behavior in business:
Formal group
It would be created by organization OR
In a formal group, the relationship between
the members is professional, they gather just
to accomplish the task allotted to them.
Activities carried by a formal group have
specific guide lines, which members of the
group are suppose to follow to ensure good
coordination.
e.g. Schools, Hospital and government
organizations
Formal groups can be divided into:-

 committees.
Workgroups.
Team.

Types of formal Committees

Group “committee can be defined as a group of


people who meet to make decisions or plans for
larger group or organization that they represent.”
e.g. In business enterprises, BOD constitutes the
committee at the highest.
 Workgroups
A collection of individual that come together to
achieve a stated objective.
In a business context, a working group might involve
people from different division or even companies that all
collaborating on a project that requires their particular
expertise or time.
 Team
Team is a group of people who share a common
team purpose and a number challenging goals.
Member of team are mutually committed to the goals
and to each other.
e.g. cricket team
Informal group

“A natural formation which are


created by people just to satisfy their social
needs.”
Informal group are not subjected to any rules
and regulations in the company . There are no
guide lines that govern operation of an
informal group.
Norms

• Group norms are basically refer to the acceptable


standards of behavior within a group.
• Group norms are the informal guide lines of
behavior and code of conduct that provide some
order and conformity to group activity and
operation.
These norms may include a
• Code of dress for meetings or being on time for the
meetings
• Behaving in a predictable manner both within and
outside group meetings.

A corporation is require to take responsibility

individual employee values and philosophies
and how they deal with ethical issue.
