The use of internet brought a lot of
contributions to different things. It
could be used as a mean to gather
information, to communicate, to share
one’s insights or ideas and many
more. Now, obtaining a social media
account, such as Facebook, it is much
easier to acquire and share
information virtually.

(2010), they described social media
as “a group of Internet based
applications that build on the
ideological and technological
foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow

According to Bennett (2012),
social media and e-commerce
technology contributed a lot to the
success and operation of
businesses

Safko (2010) stated that when
small and medium sized
enterprises use social media, it
would be referred as the
implementation of modern tools
towards communication in creating
relationships and social 6
Fong (2018) stressed that “SMEs make
up 99.6% of overall registered businesses
in the Philippines and employ over 70% of
the working population”. This mean that
small and medium businesses really
contribute a lot to the growth Philippine
economy.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
The general objective of this study was to
determine the effectiveness of social
media marketing on business
performance of small and medium
enterprises in barangay San Agustin,
Trece Martires City

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
The specific objectives of this study are;
1. To determin the demographic profile of
the business owners in terms of
a. Sex
b. age
c. Number of years in business operation
d. Educational attainment

Twitter, Instagram for small businesses
performance in terms of:
a. Brand awareness
b. Purchasing power decision
c. Environmental preservation
d. Low operating cost
e. Customer relationship
