CONCLUSION
DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION:.
INTRODUCTION:
Dual clutch transmission is the design to replace
commonly used convectional transmission system.
Conventional transmission systems will generate
lower torque.
Lower torque resulting increased fuel comsumption.
In dual clutch transmission system automatic or
manual transmission system is used.
Dual clutch transmission creates a new
revolutionary change in automobile field.
3
CLUTCH:
A clutch is a mechanical device that engage and disengage
the power transmission from driver to driven shaft.
Allows engagement of engine to transmission.
4
CLUTCH PARTS:
FLY WHEEL
CLUTCH DISC
PRESSURE PLATE
CLUTCH COVER
RELEASE BEARING
5
WORKING OF DCT:
6
WORKING OF DCT:
In DCT system two clutches are used.
First clutch is used to engage odd gears.
Second clutch is used to engage even gear.
If the transmission is automatic , then gears are
controlled by ECM which senses the gear
positioning and shifting.
If it is a manual transmission , then gears are
changed manually.
7
POWER IS ALWAYS TRANSFERRED
TO WHEELS:-
8
MERITS OF DCT:
Better fuel economy.
Very smooth gearshift operation.
Less fuel comsumption.
Fast shifting of gears.
Better drive and better comfort.
9
DEMERITS OF DCT:
Expensive to manufacture.
Heavier than a convectional manual
transmission.
Expensive transmission fluids / lubricants with
additives.
10
CONCLUSION:
By using DCT it generates higher torque
compared to convectional transmission.
DCT system offers the best fuel efficiency as well
as comfort and maintenance.
