 CHAPTER II 
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
According to Chick (2014), Power banks have become increasingly
popular as the battery life of mobile phones, tablets and portable
media players is outstripped by the amount of time we spend
using it each day. The Power Banks are good for almost any USB
charged devices, Cameras, Go-Pros, portable speakers, GPS
systems, MP3 players, Smartphones and even some tablets can
be charged from a Power Bank – practically anything that charges
from USB at home can be charged from a Power Bank.

There are two types of power bank.
1.The universal or standard power bank is the normal power
bank portable chargers which are available in the stores and
online. They are charged from the normal USB sources like USB
chargers.
2.The solar power bank as the name indicates, these solar
power banks can use sunlight to charge up. To do this they
have photovoltaic panels. These are only able to trickle-charge
the internal battery when placed in sunlight because the solar
cells are relatively small, but this can be a very useful function.

based around lithium technology."
• Lithium-ion: Lithium-Ion batteries have a higher energy
density, i.e. they can store more electrical charge in a given size
or volume, and are cheaper to manufacture, but they can have
issues with ageing. 

• Lithium-polymer: Lithium-polymer power banks do not suffer

from ageing to the same extent so are a better choice. However
they are more costly to manufacture and as a result, they may
not suit all budgets. Sometimes it may be that it is best to spend
less, especially if they are likely to be accidentally lost or left in
places.
According to the International Research Journal
of Engineering and Technology’s research,

“The lithium-ion battery is an apt technology to

incorporate with all most all portable consumer
electronic devices including power banks as well. The
electrochemical characteristics of the lithium-ion
batteries are well established their superiority among
commercial batteries in terms of operating potential,
cycle life, footprint, weight, etc."

OPERATIONAL
FRAMEWORK
Project Design 
As a broadcasting and communication students
that were assigned to create an idea that will
executed feasibly, we made a device that will
help the media practitioner for their convenient
using the Portable Power bank Recorder. It is a
hand carry device that can use in press brief and
in an interview with their respondents.  This
device is easy to use. It has two functions, to
record the voice and to charge a device with a
USB type plug especially the smartphones and
some of the DSLR launched up to year 2018.
Regarding with this price it is budget friendly for
a person working in media industry. It can be
used even in rainy season cause it build up in
waterproof layers in the surface.

            This section describes the different phases
of constructing the Portable Power bank Recorder
device and the item that have been used to produce
the innovative device. The different parts of various
product that contribute to improve the device are
included in this section. 

            The project development describes the

process two major phases:

Construction of the final design. 

The first phase of this project are the planning that

involves thing such, what are the different product’s
part we gathered to build a Portable Power bank
Recorder. Also the projection on the finished product

 Evaluation Procedure 
            The product will cost P1999 this includes all the
expenses and the labor of the men who work on the product.
This device can charge a devices to full capacity quickly and
efficiently. This Portable Power bank Recorder can charge a
standard smartphone from 0-100% battery power up to 8 times.
This device cannot be in touch by liquid during the charging
time because it is vulnerable of liquid. This product are expected
to use in 5 years. It durable and portable. The product are own
by the JCL brand means Jet, Chai and Larry.
