INTRODUCTION
WPT(Wireless Power Transmission)
technology is an old technology and it was
demonstrated by
“Nikola Tesla” in the year 1980.
Wireless power transmission
mainly uses three main system
such as microwaves,solar cells,
and resonance.
Theory of wireless power transmission
Dipole Antenna
Phased array antenna
Rectenna
Physical limitation &relationships
Dipole antenna
Transmission of power is simpler than
TV&Radio
Transmitter: wire half a
wavelength
Pushes electron back
and forth
Receiver: wire half a
wavelength
Phased-array antenna
Beam focussing: phased-array antenna
Electronically steered by
varying the timing or
phasewaves will
merge together
Rectenna
An optical rectenna is a
Rectenna that work with
Visible or infrared light.
Rectenna is a circuit
Containing an antenna
And a diode.
Classification of power transmission
Microwaves
Laser power transmission
resonance

Laser power transmission
Benefits of (WPT)
Advantage:
Simple design
Lower frequency operation
Low cost
Disadvantage:
High power loss
Inefficient for longer distance
Non-directionality
Conculsion
As wireless power begins to grow more of
these devices would be manufactured with a
wireless option and the use of wireless power
will become widespread in new homes.
