HISTORY
Aronson, Rudolph (1856-1919) is the
producer and composer built the Casino
Theatre which opened in 1882 as the first
playhouse designed for Broadway musicals.
Charles Frohman and Marcus Alonzo Klaw
are the developers of this genre.
BROADWAY MUSICALS
Very popular and world-known.
The Elves in 1857 was the first “long-run”
musical.
The longest running production musical is
Phantom of the Opera (opened in 1988).
