HEMATOKRIT

Dwipanggi ahyana
Self introduction

Hello i am panggi student of tweleve grade health analyst of vocational

high school
Bina lestari plus today i will deliver presentation about hematokrit
What is hematokrit (HCT) test?

The hematocrit test (Hct) is a test that compares the proportion of red blood cells with
the volume of all blood components (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and
blood plasma) itself together.

The hematocrit test is part of a complete blood count, and the results are stated in
percentage. For example, a hematocrit value of 40% means that there are 40 milliliters
of red blood cells in 100 milliliters of blood. A hematocrit test is usually done to test
anemia, leukemia, and malnutrition
Hematokrit normal values
Normal hematocrit levels are not flat for everyone. The normal range of hematocrit is influenced by several factors.
Factors that influence normal hematocrit levels include age and gender. Pregnancy, height of residence, and
hematocrit test methods.

The following are normal hematocrit levels for several categories:

Newborns: around 50% - 70%

Infants aged 1 week: around 37% - 49%
Infants aged 3 months: around 30% - 36%
Infants aged 1 year: around 28% - 45%
Children: around 36% - 40%
Adult men: around 38% - 50%
Adult women: around 36% - 46%
Principe of hematokrit

Blood with isotonic anticoagulants in a microcapillary tube is centrifuged for 2.5

minutes at 3000 rpm, erythrocytes compacted at the bottom of the tube. Erythrocyte
height equals hematocrit value in units of%
:
Tools

- Hematocrit tube / capillary tube

-Lancet / auto click

-Wax

-S hematocrit centrifuge

-Hematocrit reader

Ingredients: Capillary or venous blood

Ways of working

1. Capillary blood is taken with 2/3 or 3/4 hematocrit tubes from the tube.

2. Covered with wax.

3.Dentrifuge for 5 minutes with a speed of 3000 rpm.

4. Read hematocrit levels with Reading Device.
